Key principles and actionable steps to enhance resilience nationwide

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) introduces the National Resilience Guidance (NRG). This guidance provides a vision of resilience and outlines fundamental principles and actionable steps that all communities and organizations can implement to enhance resilience nationwide. Participation is essential, as national resilience is a multifaceted issue necessitating a collective community effort. The NRG aims to assist all stakeholders in strengthening national resilience.

To increase community and national resilience, FEMA’s National Resilience Guidance: “promotes a common understanding of resilience; emphasizes the critical relationship between chronic community stressors and acute shocks; addresses the roles of individuals, organizations, and all levels of government; provides an actionable approach to resilience planning and implementation; and, incorporates a community resilience maturity model that walks through concrete steps to build resilience.”
