ClimaTwin, a B2B SaaS solution for physical climate risk intelligence, is proud to participate in the workshop The Social-Ecological Consequences of Future Wildfire in the West. In collaboration with The Royal Society of Canada, the National Academies Board on Environmental Change and Society hosts the workshop on the future climate, social, and ecological drivers of wildfire in the western region of the United States and Canada. The workshop aims to understand and respond to increasing fire size, severity, and frequency, focusing on “…binational policy/practice considerations, research/data needs, and community engagement strategies.” Further, The Social-Ecological Consequences of Future Wildfire in the West aims to identify knowledge gaps and determine disciplines to collaborate to fill those gaps. Featuring experts across academia, industry, and government, including representatives of fire-impacted communities, the workshop is both in person at the Beckman Center in Irvine, CA, and virtual. Participants discuss the state of the art of wildfire resilience and adaptation and the future challenges and needs in this context.
