The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Government Relations team and Whitney Muse, the Chief of Staff for the Office of Electricity and the Office of Grid Deployment for the Department of Energy (DOE) present ASCE’s IIJA Implementation Series: Building A More Resilient Grid on Wednesday May 25, 2022.

“The Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) will invest a historic $73 billion to rebuild our nation’s electric grid and will include provisions aimed at reinforcing its resilience.” Responsible for both creating new programs and expanding existing programs, DOE will receive the majority of the funds for grid reliability and resilience.

During the webinar on IIJA implementation, the ASCE Government Relations team and Whitney Muse highlight how “…the agency is undertaking new programs to strengthen the resilience of our nation’s grid…” and the subsequent transmission planning amidst our nation’s transition to renewable energy, such as solar, wind, and hydropower.
